We are 18 years old, & currently studying in NgeeAnnPoly's Early Childhood Education. We believe that children should learn through hands on experiences in order to learn better during their developmental stages. Hence, we recommend certain on-line games for your children to play & learn at the same time.

MATH

The name of this game is Blue’s Gold Clues Challenge. It is suitable for young children aged 4 to 5 years old.

http://www.nickjr.com/games/blues-gold-clues-challenge.jhtml?path=/games/all-shows/letters-spelling-games/4-5-years/index.jhtml

In Blue’s Gold Clues Challenge, there are 3 locations that children will have to play in order to earn a set of Gold Clues.

In Alphabet City, the aim is to fill in the missing alphabet in the blank spaces, just by clicking on the alphabet.

In Numbers Kingdom, the goal is to identify the colours, and count the number of puppies. The coloured puppy on the bottom right hand corner, tells you which colour puppies to click and count.

In Shapes Forest, children click and drag the missing shapes and place them where they belong.

At the end, the set of Gold Clues results in a jigsaw puzzle your child can put together to discover one of Sprinkles' favorite things.

The objectives of this game are that it allows children to improve on their developmental skills on language, when they listen and comprehend from this game. Children will also improve on their developmental skills on math, as they are able to practise counting, and understand Mathematical terms, reasoning and problem solving skills, when they tackle each obstacle in every location.

Pros & Cons:
Through this game, the children are able to learn many Math concepts such as identifying different shapes, counting numbers and recognising the alphabets. When the cursor is placed over the alphabets, it tells you what the alphabet is. When you click on the puppies to count, the computer counts with you as well. Through these, children can innate the language from the computer to help them learn better. The game can also be played more than once, as the mini-games and clues are different, so your child finds a new challenge each time he/she plays.

However, children will get restless after some time, as it requires attentive hearing, and children at the age of 4 to 5 would have a short attention span.
